On 30th January 2018, Cooke, Young & Keidan LLP hosted a civil fraud seminar at the Institute of Directors. Philip Young (Partner) and Hannah Pickworth (Associate) spoke on the panel together with Richard Millett QC and Tom Ford of Essex Court Chambers and the session was chaired by Arish Bharucha (Senior Associate).
The speakers covered a range of interesting topics including: the mental element of the tort of deceit; freezing injunctions; dealing with the challenges of claims against cyber criminals; and the recent decision of the Supreme Court in Ivey v Genting Casino. Over a hundred guests attended the seminar and joined members of the firm at a drinks reception afterwards.
