Sinead O’Callaghan speaks at conference on GCC Parties before the English Courts

17 June 2021: CYK partner Sinead O’Callaghan recently participated in a panel discussion on ‘GCC Parties before the English Courts: Review of Key Cases and Issues’, hosted by McNair Chambers.  The recording of the webinar is now available here.

In recent years, there have been a number of interesting cases decided by the English courts which have involved GCC parties. Professor Khawar Qureshi, Head of McNair Chambers Qatar, was joined by Lara Hammoud, Senior Counsel at Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC Group), Sara Koleilat-Aranjo, Partner at Al Tamimi & Company and Sinead O’Callaghan to discuss some of the key themes and issues that have emerged from these English court decisions including with respect to the supervisory role of English courts in regards to arbitration proceedings involving GCC parties. This event was co-chaired by Essam Al Tamimi, Chairman of Al Tamimi & Company and Sir Robin Jacob former Judge of the Court of Appeal of England & Wales.
