CYK represented at 4th annual MCIA conference in Mumbai

13 September 2019: CYK was pleased to be represented at the recent MCIA conference in Mumbai by Arish Bharucha and Shamilee Arora. The conference opened with keynote speeches by Mrs Justice Indu Malhotra (a judge of the Supreme Court of India) and Mr Justice Pradeep Nandrajog (Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court) and ended with a lively debate about whether arbitration in India was “blazing new trails, or taking two steps back”. Much of the conference was devoted to discussing the recent  Arbitration & Conciliation (Amendment) Act, 2019 but a number of other interesting arbitration-related topics were covered as well. The conference was very well attended by lawyers from India, England and Singapore, amongst other jurisdictions and the standard of debate and discussion was high.
